Visions of Infinity: Commander of Fools
This year’s April Fools week-long event takes its name from the most recent expansion: Visions of Eternity
The silly thing introduced this year is the Fool’s Ocular Tonic, which gives character models googly eyes. The launcher even gets into the theme and sports them
Let’s look at what you need to do to complete the Annual: Commander of Fools and unlock the Masked Cat Hat Box, the next invisible armor skin
April Fools!
Speak with Professor Smoll at the Lion’s Arch to recieve a starter kit for hijinks
Head to Lions Court Point of Interest - [&BCkEAAA=] in the Grand Plaza area of Lion’s Arch and talk to Professor Smoll
They will also become the event vendor where you can purchase rewards and extra tonics
Vision of Infinity
While under the effects of a Fool’s Ocular Tonic, successfully complete events
Complete 10 events while this tonic is active, these can be Cat Café Business Hours and participating/spectating in the Fashion Show Event
Cozy Café
Place the Café Register decoration in your homestead and try it out
This achievement requires having homesteads unlocked, as you cannot open a cafe in another’s instance
You have to visit Professor Smoll to buy the Homestead Decoration Box: Café Console and place the items if you didn’t unlock in past years - This means you must own Janthir Wilds
The first tab of the console vendor menu lets you buy the placeable upgrades in your homestead
The second tab has upgrades for the items and the cafe itself, including Jade Bot Waiters
The final tab becomes available once you have your cafe fully unlocked, giving you an additional way to buy tonics for Cat Café Coins and convert coin stacks into more manageable Gold Café Coins
Business Management
Purchase upgrades for your café from the café console
This one technically doesn’t count towards Commander of Fools, but it is an achievement you can get by maxing your cafe
Taking a Cat’s Coin
Earn profits from a café in your homestead
Earn 1000 Café Coins from serving cats in your homestead cafe
Heights of Glory
While under the effects of a Fool’s Tall Tonic, successfully complete events
Complete 10 events while these tonic is active, these can be Cat Cafe Business Hours and participating/spectating in the Fashion Show Event
Future Fashionable
Participate in fashion shows in Lion’s Arch as a contestant or audience voter
Head to the fashion show at the Crow’s Nest Tavern Point of Interest - [&BB8EAAA=] in the Western Ward of Lion’s Arch, where you can participate or spectate
If you spectate, be sure to use the emote skills that replace your specialization skill bar on your favorites, or you will not get credit
Dog Days
While under the effects of a Fool’s Dog Treat, sit or sleep in the dog park in Lion’s Arch for several minutes
Under the Fool’s Tall Tonic, /sit or /sleep near the dogs at the Lions Court Point of Interest - [&BCkEAAA=] in the Grand Plaza area of Lion’s Arch
Choya Carnival
While under the effects of a Spiked Choya Psionic Tonic, complete the hardest fractal you can
Complete 3 fractals, while the tonic is active
We completed these by doing Fractal Quickplays, as long as you are in choya form and not downstate at the end of the fractal
Seats of Power
Sit in chairs in Central Tyria (Chairs you own do not count)
Sit in any non-novelty chair outside a homestead. Yes, it is that easy. Conveniently, there are a bunch on the platform with the fashion show!
In a Cat’s Eye
Using a Chatoyant Elixir or similar effects, visit and pet a hidden cat
Pet any cat while under the effect of the Chatoyant Elixer or similar effect, this includes the infusion and the accessory.
There is a cat named Mars wandering around near Professor Smoll
Rewards
You will recieve the Masked Cat Hat Box [&AgEaqQEA]
Even with full legendary, I find this useful so I don’t have to remember to hide the armor across builds - this is the third in this series of invisible armor skins
You will also get the Choice Unburdener Elixir [&AgENqQEA]
This allows you to see the Ley-line Anomaly again even if you completed the Burden of Choice achievement
