Captain Mai Trin
Take down the one and only Captain Mai Trin in this Fractal
Captain Mai Trin Fractal takes you back to to the hidden Aetherblade base where you will face off against Mai Trin and her First Mate Horrik. Both will work together to take you and your team down, but if you can play them against each other you can make short work of them!
Starting Area
You will start in a short hallway, simply progress forward and kill one group of Aetherblades. When one person interacts with the console it will bring the whole team into the next room where you will face Mai Trin and Horrik
Mai Trin
Mai Trin will have some special mechanics, and you will need to work as a team to take her down. Once you get inside the room you will get hit with quick damage and some agony as well, which can kill you at the higher tiers if you don’t have enough agony resistance
When you first start the fight she will have 10 stacks of Captains Shield which will make her invulnerable to start off with as these reduce damage by 10% per stack.
You need to remove these by make sure she gets hit by Horriks Electric AoE's. Players who are targeted are marked with a electric purple marker over their head need to stack on Mai Trin, or bring her close to them. The longer she stays in the field the more stack will drop, you can CC her and break her Defiance Bar to make her stay in there longer
*The second purple icon looks like a diamond icon over your head shows who Mai Trin is fixated on, use this to pull her to the electric field
During all of this Horrik will be raining down cannon fire on your team, try not to get to close to him while he is doing this or he will do a melee range AoE knock back and stock firing the Electric AoE you need.
Mai Trin can Shadow step away, and will target the player furthest away from her, so it is better to be stacked as a group here. Be ready with plenty of condi removal since she can spam conditions very quickly, bringing some party wide removals will be a big help.
Artillery Barrage - Mai Trin will do a phase shift every 25% (starting at 75%) where she will stop attacking and Horrik will become vulnerable to attacks. He will have other adds spawn to protect him, and Mai Trin will be be firing cannons off at you the whole time. To end this you need to deal 25% damage to Horrik, and Mai Trin will be able to recieve damage again. If you do not kill the other adds before dealing damage to Horrik the adds a buff called Captain's Inspiration that gives them additional damage, pull them all into Horrik and AoE the group down.
You will need to stack again and get Mai Trin into the Electric AoE again to break her shield.
Master Tier Fractal - In Tier 4, there will be three additional enemies that spawn when you end the third Artillery Barrage phase - Elite Boarder Zonn, Elite Boatswain Stormsplit, and Elite Sharpshooter Tarron - these enemies will deal a fairly larage amount of damage, you can either leave them be and have someone heal/shield through the damage and burn Mai Trin quickly, or you can eliminate them.
