General Updates
I am a fan of the Play Your Way video series Guild Wars 2 is posting on their social media. They do an excellent job of delivering concise, TLDR-style explanations of various game aspects. The way they go about doing it through “personalities” as the topics is very smart, hitting all the different niche enjoyments of the game
Personalities so far have included The Fashion Collector, The Lorekeeper, The Socialite, The Legendary Crafter, The Completionist, The Explorer, The Boss Hunter, The Homesteader, and The Competitor
Extra Life
The 2025 Extra Life charity pets have officially arrived as of the July 14, 2026, update. You can now encounter these companions throughout the open world or visit the new Paw-Nthir area, provided you are equipped with a Chatoyant elixir, accessory, or infusion!
You can get there through Lions Arch at the Guild Initiative Headquarters — [&BG4FAAA=] near Guild Bluff Waypoint — [&BA0EAAA=] by talking to the new Extra Pet’s Guide
This new NPC sells Chatoyant items that let you see the Extra Life pets in the open world and instances
In addition, you can talk to the Guide to teleport you to any location that contains the Extra Life Pets since 2020, when ArenaNet began participating in the annual fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals nationwide.
I used to do a lot of fundraising for this organization since a major hospital in my state is part of the network
The earliest site is in Seitung Province on Cat Island Point of Interest — [&BBoNAAA=]. We have yet another way to fast travel around Tyria
Rush Events
We survived the July Update Crisis of 2026, and Dungeon Rush was extended an extra day so you could roll in that dungeon currency and purchase those dungeon runes, sigils, and skins or the Wanderer's Expedition Cape [&AgF5igEA] from the rush vendor (only there during the rush)
Now World vs World Rush is on through July 28. The Greater Call of the Mists boost is a great opportunity to farm your tracks, since it stacks with other boosters!
Balance
This was also a balance patch. I am not into buildcraft, so I don’t have much to offer here. If you notice anything off, send your respectful thoughts to the forums with specific details on what is happening and how it is affecting your gameplay
